Website redesign for FABIS Charity (Friends of Acquired Brain Injury Survivors), undertaken to create a clearer, more accessible digital platform that better communicates the charity’s mission and supports fundraising and volunteer engagement.
The project focused on accessibility, clarity and alignment with the charity’s values, ensuring the website could serve both supporters and those directly affected by acquired brain injury.
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Industry: charity
Services:
FABIS Charity supports people affected by acquired brain injury by providing opportunities for respite, social connection and confidence-building experiences, including holidays and events for survivors and their carers.
As a community-focused organisation, FABIS relies on clear communication to engage donors, volunteers and supporters, while ensuring accessibility for a broad range of users.
the challenge
The existing website had become outdated and no longer communicated the charity’s mission effectively. Content structure and presentation made it difficult for visitors to understand the organisation’s purpose, how to get involved, or how to support its work.
The challenge was to redesign the site in a way that improved clarity, accessibility and ease of use, while creating a digital presence that genuinely reflected the charity’s values and ethos.

The website was redesigned in full, with a focus on content clarity, accessibility and user experience.
Content was reorganised to better communicate the charity’s mission and activities, supported by a clear UX structure that makes it easier for visitors to navigate the site. The visual design was developed to align with FABIS’ values, creating a calm, welcoming and trustworthy tone.
Donation pathways were made more visible and accessible, and the site was designed to be fully responsive, ensuring a consistent experience across devices. Accessibility considerations were integrated throughout the design to support inclusive use.
The redesigned website presents FABIS’ mission more clearly, helping visitors quickly understand the charity’s purpose and impact.
Improved structure and usability support more direct engagement from donors and volunteers, while a stronger, more considered visual identity reinforces trust and credibility. The site now provides a clearer and more accessible platform for supporting the charity’s work.
This project highlights the importance of accessibility, clarity and empathy in charity website design, where digital communication plays a central role in building trust and encouraging meaningful engagement.
